2021.12.03 19:52 booleanstring Where to get Hawaii travel-approved COVID tests for children (age 3)?
Having a really hard time tracking down providers - looks like there is nothing in Corvallis. Also, not all places will test children under 5, so that’s been tricky.
Does anyone know where I can get a test for a 3 year old that is accepted by the Hawaii trusted traveler program?

2021.12.03 19:52 Luvaha Flour
What crop do you guys use to make flour for bread?
Maybe bread is not the best thing to produce but the easiest thing for me... so...
I was just wondering if I should consider a specific type of flour over another one because you maybe get more flour per field...

2021.12.03 19:52 student_OT2497 Two month puppy biting advice
I have a 2 month old bichon which I know is still young and she’s teething but I still want to train her to not bite. I tried ow/no and staying still and neither work. When I try to stay still I’m just hurting myself more because she really gets at my feet and bites hard, she’s going through my skin. I just worry too bc she does it to my little brother and it’s making him upset. I also tried the method of holding a toy of hers while walking and redirecting her attention but it also doesn’t work. Any advice how to get her to stop biting our feet?

2021.12.03 19:52 redpanda41618 American Christmas nik naks
So I'm in the UK, currently watching Blown Away on Netflix, the Christmas series and someone has made a cracker and the judge has queried if that's what it is called. Do you not have crackers in the US?
Cracker in this context means a cardboard tube in which contains a joke, paper hats, a toy and then it is pulled apart by two people and snaps. Whoever gets the bigger half wins the toy and everyone then wears the hat for dinner.
In addition, have seen that advent calendars are not that common stateside - is this true?
Do you have anything traditional in the US that we might not do here in the UK?

2021.12.03 19:52 HarpyJay Badly burned on the job, and coerced by manager and HR Coordinator not to do anything about it (Minnesota)
Back in August 2020, I was working in Eden Prairie, MN, when a workplace accident left me with partial thickness burns and skin sloughing from the top of my head all the way down to my collarbones, and scent triggered ptsd (undiagnosed as of now, but definitely diagnosable - flashbacks, panic attacks, the whole nine yards). I was left to my own devices to care for myself, and was only taken to the hospital (I couldn't see clearly or keep my eyes open, and thus couldn't drive) after asking my manager several times over the course of an entire hour. I was on medical leave for about two weeks. For those two weeks, I received about $300 in compensation - for reference, I made approximately $900 every two weeks working here. Additionally, they covered my medical bills.
When I brought up my dissatisfaction with this compensation, my manager pulled me into his office and tried to convince me to drop it. When he failed, he got his HR Coordinator on the phone, who proceeded to tell me that this is standard, and that I didn't qualify for more.
Now that I work a corporate job, and have learned from an adequate EHS department, I believe I was lied to, and coerced to avoid pursuing legal action.
Is there anything I can do to make this right?

2021.12.03 19:52 captaininzaneo Hair follicle test chances of passing?
Alright, so I stopped smoking for like 6 months and then smoked for about a month mid july to mid august. I have a hair follicle test im supposed to take on december 13th. Im 5'10 like 210lbs, I keep my hair short like 1/4 inch but i havent cut it in a minute and its growing slow as fuck so its like an inch right now. I can grow facial hair like a beast though, if they test the hair on my head whats the chances of passing? If I cut my hair down on my head to 1/4, can they test my facial hair which im more confident in passing with since it grows quicker. Any advice helps, thanks in advance

2021.12.03 19:52 quesqotrickster Did you ever feel out of place growing up because of your scorpio moon?
Have you ever felt like you were out of place growing up, because you always observed things on a deeper level? I'm asking because I'm not sure if this is a scorpio moon thing or connected to some other aspect in my chart. Did you ever feel bad about looking for a deeper meaning so often that is made you an outcast, because other people might saw it as too deep or too much or overcomplicated? Can you remember early memories, things that might made you weird as a child, maybe too dark, too intense? Things that you might kept as a secret because even though they weren't harmful for anyone, it would have make people look weird, or they just wouldn't understand? What are some "scorpio moon child" things?

2021.12.03 19:52 haveyouguessedit Are therapists specialised with autism/autistic themselves better help ?
I'm at a point I know I'm needing help, and I'm technically in therapy for that but it's not helping much at all. And I'm wondering if the fact that they both don't know much about ASD (to their own admission) is why I'm having so much trouble with them, and why they're having trouble with helping me, apparently.
It's somewhat consistent with all the psychiatrists/therapists I've seen before : I start and I try to open up the best I can, but they don't seem to understand when I try to explain something, or they understand things in the wrong way, they get mad that I take too much time to answer questions, and I end up putting the mask back on. It's making therapy feel pointless.
My current psychiatrist thinks I've been doing really good lately. I'm barely able to get out of bed, I don't even manage to enjoy painting (when it's the main part of my life). I have trouble sleeping and that's what concerns her the most 'cause she fears it'll turn into an hypomanic episode. Meanwhile my sensory issues seem worse, I haven't been able to talk to anyone I care for in a while, and I have shutdowns/sensory overloads almost daily. And I'm so tired. Yesterday I saw family members and after a few minutes outside, talking, with the noise of the city in the background, I got so exhausted I stopped being able to talk or hear them, and I needed to repeat to myself "left foot, right foot" in my head because even walking felt hard. But it seems that no matter how I try to explain this to any of the therapist I'm seeing, they don't get it. The other therapist I see (a psychologist), doesn't even comprehend how I can be bothered by sounds he doesn't hear.
Sad thing is it's why I never would talk about it growing up. It seems no one understand it, or worst even believe it when I try to ask for help or try to say something's wrong. But I'm not 5 anymore, I know more, I know that because they don't believe it doesn't mean I'm making it up, I know I can't always deal with it alone, I know right now I need help. But they don't seem to know how to help either. They just re-fill the prescription, or tell me there's nothing they can do about it, that I just need to learn how to deal with my anxiety and emotions and block out the sensory input that bothers me ... and I'm back to square one.
To be fair, my autism diagnosis is pretty new and I was referred to my current psychiatrist before I had even any suspicion of being on the spectrum, and because she's partly specialised with treating bipolar and chronically depressed patients so she seemed like a good fit. But she has admitted herself she doesn't know much about ASD and I'm starting to think maybe I'd need to see someone that's specialised with it, or that is on the spectrum themselves. Although I don't know how I could even ask to change doctor right now, nor if it'd really help.
Has anyone seen an improvement in their therapy journey/care (I don't know how to call it) when seeing therapists that are aware of at least sensory issues, at best the whole of what makes autism ?, or does it barely make a difference ? I'm sure it's different person to person, and therapist to therapist, still at this point thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance in any case, sorry it was a bit of a vent, too.
